Title: Web Business Consultant

Prescient Digital Media is a group of senior Internet and intranet business consultants in Toronto. Prescient provides strategic Internet and intranet consulting and planning services to a diverse range of clients.

Reporting to the Vice President, the Web Business Consultant will be responsible for undertaking business requirements analysis, website evaluations, user research, benchmarking, planning and information architecture development. You will employ excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of Internet and intranet technology, management issues and planning.
Major Responsibilities:
- Communication excellence: Written and verbal communications will be one of your many strengths.
- Engagement: You will possess the ability to work independently and will require little supervision.
- Analysis & Reporting: You will be able to gather and analyze client business and user requirements and develop reports and recommendations based on these requirements.
- Marketing: You will have experience in delivering powerful presentations and demonstrations. As well, you will be called upon to contribute web related articles to Prescient’s newsletters.
- Teamwork: High degree of collaboration with the Prescient team as well as Prescient partners and clients.
- Account Management: You will be responsible for working with our senior consultants on client projects.
You will have demonstrated success in listening, and have a solid working knowledge of various departments within an enterprise and experience securing meetings, understanding client requirements and subsequent solution development, early buy-in to results such as pilots, design wins, case studies and reference customers. Experience conducting requirements interviews and focus groups is an asset.
Requirements:
- You will have a BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience combined with 2-6 years of relevant business or communications experience.
- You must possess a strong understanding and be comfortable dealing with the middle and senior management within enterprises;
- Strong: communication, presentation, negotiation, analytic and conflict management skills; and a high commitment to customer satisfaction.

Reporting to the Vice President, the Consultant/Senior Consultant will be responsible for undertaking business requirements analysis, website evaluations, user research, benchmarking, planning and information architecture development. You will employ excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of Internet and intranet technology, management issues and planning.
Major Responsibilities:
- Communication excellence: There will be a high degree of communication with clients and potential clients. Written and verbal communications will be one of your key strengths.
- Engagement: You will possess the ability to independently and efficiently manage a project from start to finish with minimal or no supervision. Attain an 8 or better on client engagements.
- Analysis & Reporting: You will be able to gather and analyze client business specifics, as well as user requirements and develop detailed reports and recommendations based on this information.
- Planning: You understand the intricacies of strategic planning, modeling and facilitation including research techniques and tools such as surveys, and focus group testing, and are able to effectively execute these practices. You will be able to independently run any of the planning deliverables (strategic planning, governance model workshops, CMS evaluations, etc).
- Marketing: You will have experience in delivering powerful presentations and demonstrations. Member of a relevant association.
- Teamwork: Knowledge sharing and collaboration with colleagues, as well as our partners and clients is essential to your success as a Prescient team member. You will act as a mentor to all other consultants.
- Business Development: Identifying opportunities to extend client engagements to help drive Prescient’s growth. You will be responsible for contributing greatly to upsell targets.
- Writing: You will write at least one article per quarter and submit at least one white paper per year.
- Service Offerings: You will expected to contribute and submit 2-3 new service offerings per year. As well, continually enhancing present company deliverables.
- Supervision: Little or none
- Experience: 6+ years in relevant online business and consulting experience
- Education: BC/BA degree and MBA
- Account Management: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of client projects independently. You will manage work priorities, efficiently allocating time and utilizing available resources: effectively leading multiple assignments.
- Leadership: Effectively accomplishes work through others; inspires confidence, provides clear direction, communicates constructive feedback, provides on-the-job raining, recognizing and resolves problems
- Development of Staff: Recognizes and develops staff and abilities of other staff in order to promote professional development and to meet company objectives; plans and assigns work effectively and equitably. Assists in new consultant onboarding.
- Other: Must possess a strong e-business understanding and be comfortable dealing with senior management within client environments. Will have well-rounded, multi-vertical business experience; exceptional executive communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical and conflict management skills; and a high commitment to customer satisfaction.
