"The information is old"

If you and your employees are complaining that information is old…then we can diagnose a governance problem. Well, there is more to it than that of course but having a defined governance model with a content management plan identifies responsibilities and expectations so that people are made accountable.

The big issue here is also that old information isn't credible or reliable and there is a risk that employees are using old forms and policies, and in some industries there can be serious ramifications and a danger to compliance. Old information also creates a domino effect in that employees start looking for information from other sources and they then save it to their hard drive or a shared drive which results in multiple versions. It’s a dangerous and slippery slope which highlights the need for a strong governance and content management plan.
